sustainability governance structure

Responsibility for sustainability resides at all levels of the organisation.

Individuals from across the organisation have been empowered to help create the change needed, innovate and continually look for opportunities to make mecu more sustainable.

At the Board level we have a Sustainable Development Committee, which provides overall direction to management.

Within the organisation a staff member from each division has nominated to be on the Staff Sustainability Reference Group called "Footprints". The group is chaired by staff and is responsible for helping to champion and implement appropriate sustainability projects and initiatives across the organisation.

"Footprints" is supported by a sustainability advisory network, which is made up of representatives from each service centre. They ensure that the appropriate initiatives are implemented in the Service Centre and provide an important channel of information and ideas about how we can become more sustainable.

This structure provides mecu with a comprehensive network that ensures sustainability is implemented across all aspects of the business.
