As water quality and quantity are critical indicators of ecological health in Australia, our Community Partnership Program will support initiatives that:
- seek ways to improve the sustainable use of waterways
- advocate policy and behavioural changes, that improve water resources, maintain biodiversity, and enhance water quality
- assess environmental factors and land use activities
- enable communities to participate effectively in discussions about water use and provide long-term solutions to their problems
- seek to address greenhouse issues affecting global warming

The mecu Community Partnership Program, supports a variety of initiatives that address issues such as;
- student welfare;
- enhancing student retention;
- professional development for student and qualified teachers, and particularly teachers involved in the areas of science, environmental or social studies;
- leadership development for Government School Principals; and
- advancement of corporate social responsibility.
