Saturday November 15, 1pm, Federation Sq, Melbourne – walking to Parliament House
Join thousands of Victorian families, workplaces and communities at this year’s Walk Against Warming on Saturday Nov 15th to demand real action on climate change from our leaders. With the threat of runaway climate change upon us, we need urgent action now to reduce our emissions and create a safe climate future for our kids.
Last year, record numbers of Victorians joined together at the Walk Against Warming to call for real change at what was the world’s biggest climate change rally! Within a month, Australia had signed the Kyoto Protocol.
This year, the need for action is even greater. With the Arctic sea ice melting, we need leadership to green our economy and stop climate change. Our leaders may be talking the talk, but they are definitely not walking the walk.
Without immediate and deep emission reductions we risk our future, and the future of our children. Millions of people around the world, many of them our Pacific neighbours, are already feeling the destructive forces of climate change.
The Walk Against Warming is organised by Environment Victoria, the State’s peak environmental body, in partnership with Make Poverty History and Greenpeace, and proudly supported by mecu .
Walk with us this year and help us once again secure real action on climate change.
Bring your family, friends, neighbours, colleagues and anyone else who wants to ensure a safe climate future. We know that the Walk Against Warming creates real change, but only if we all stand together to tell our leaders ‘ENOUGH TALK – IT’S TIME FOR ACTION’.
